About

Hey all, I had to decide whether to do this in the first or third person, and I eventually settled on first, why, well, I feel its more personal.

Me, Alex Glynn, or more commonly known as Glynnder, am in my first year at Winchester College (making me, that's right, fourteen), and am loving it. I have been doing coding and graphics of one sort or another for about 4 years now, since I was ten. Although at ten I was amazed when I made a website with the worlds most shoddy title, no tabling, and colours (that's right- it has a 'u' in it) consisting of black, red, and white text.

After using Macromedia Fireworks for just a bit, I realised that Paint and HTML were not the answer, and became determined to improves my graphics and programming ability, so, here I am today, able to do a fair bit more, including:

Lua
Java
Basic knowledge of C
Ruby
HTML
JavaScript
CSS
Basic php
Half decent graphics on Fireworks
Not-so-decent graphics on Photoshop

Along with quite a bit of other stuff I have picked up over the last four years.

People have asked me what I believe to be the future of LDK, its a hard question- being a team of only one member, I make all the important decisions, don't rely on people getting their part of the code in on time, and get to do it exactly how I want it. They're the advantages, however the disadvantages include the fact that I have only my, rather limited, Java skills to use, no dedicated graphics or sound artists, and can't take stuff out on other people! The biggest issue for me though is school, I am writing this in Wednesday and go back to school on Sunday. From school I can only do a little bit of programming, although I have a 'don' as we call them, who is brilliant at Java- and I know I'll be nabbing some code off of him!
Back to the question, I know for a fact I will not stop working on this until either a) the support dies, b) I feel I have completed it, or c) I completely lost interest (which will only happen if either a or b occur). In the time I expect do be continuing it for, I think I will achieve a lot, not only the features mentioned here, but many more suggested by other people.
In a nutshell- I think it'll go far, further than any Lua IDE has gone to date, in fact, I think it already has.
